[Theme: San Kloud] No depths in sidebar page list

I am trying to list the pages on a subsite, including child pages, on the sidebar. I’ve tried just about anything i could think of to make it work – from using the default WP widget to custom menus. It seems that there is something in the theme blocking me from listing the child pages as child pages (they display in the custom menu as long as i don’t set up a hierarchy). It works just fine using another theme…

What do i need to change so that the list of pages reflects the page hierarchy similar to a table of contents?
