[Plugin: GPP Slideshow] 1.6 does not work in IE for base widget and focal point theme

I upgraded to 1.6 of the plugin and it no longer works in IE in the Home Page widget using Base Widgets Plugin and Focal Point Theme.
I had to downgrade to 1.5 to get it behaving again.
