    Howdy, partners…

Is there code or a plugin that can associate a unique image with a post in a certain category?

So, if I call a category, it will show me different images with each title and excerpt?

Had a look around for plugins, but no dice.

Look at nymag.com – Scroll down and you can see a section called “Faces of the Week”. I’d like to do something like that…

    Ideas/plugins would be appreciated.

  • Bump. I’m also looking for this feature. I don’t think it should require a plug-in. Just the innovative use of already existing functions or tags.

You can do just about anything with a bit of knowledge on The_Loop and Using_Custom_Fields.

Or you can look at plugins. 🙂
    Post Image?

I’ll go with the first suggestion. Plugins have a bad habit of breaking/slowing down my site. I can’t afford to have the display of all my images dependent on a plugin. Besides, using custom fields seems like the simplest and most logical way to associate images with posts.

It seems that the implementation would be to add a link to the original image and a link to the thumbnail as two custom fields. Then you would just call up the info where you need it.

Any additional advice on doing this would be much appreciated. I’ll post the solutions or partial solution when I get it working.
