Exporting posts only not working

I’m attempting to move my blog from a different host — I don’t want to import the pages, only the posts. When I export choose “posts”, the resulting export file is only 2.18k even though there are over 1200 posts. (If I export the entire file, it’s 12MB, but I don’t want to export the pages to the new site, only the posts)

I’ve tried exporting a single month’s worth of posts, but the file is still 2.18k. If I export only the posts with a specific category for a couple months, it’s slightly bigger (2.37k) as the coding now includes the category but nothing else. It doesn’t seem to matter what I choose, all the posts export files are basically empty…

I’m using the most recently version of WPs importer/exporter plugin, though I’m only on 3.1.3 of WP itself (which is one reason why I’m moving hosts.)

What else can I try?
