    Hey people,

    Here’s presenting Split Magazine — http://www.split-magazine.com/

Please tell me what you think of it.

I’m also planning to redesign/restructure the site in a month or so, to add new enhancements, so I would also like some suggestions from you w.r.t. what you would like to see in a music magazine.

    Cheers!

I love it! I am not going to subscribe via RSS.

Thanks a lot 🙂 I didn’t get the ‘not subscribe via RSS’ bit. Did you not like the content, or do you like the design enough to keep coming back to the site instead of subscribing to the RSS feed(s)?

Also, I’d like to get your suggestions on what features you would like to see in an online music magazine. Thank you 🙂

I just read my post, I meant to say “now”. I appologize if I confused you.

that’s pretty neat. the design looks clean, and the red-black-white-gray look seems good for the styles of music here. You gonna do this magazine site w/out ads?

hey, if you redesign the site, would you submit the current theme for the WP community ?

    it really looks good …

    well done …

Thank you all for your kind words 🙂 I really appreciate it.

@dgold: I’m hoping to get some ads in the near future, let’s see how it goes. If you have any ideas, please let me know. My e-mail address is arun [at] split-magazine [dot] com.

As I mentioned, I’m going to be redesigning the Web site, and the colour scheme will be changed from red-black-white-grey to something else. I assure you that it *will* look better than this, though 🙂 Will keep you posted here.

@hyperactive-media: I can’t submit the current theme, as it is a (rather severe) modification of an existing WordPress theme — Slatystain — although I’m honoured that you asked me to. The upcoming new design will not be derived from any existing theme — it will be totally original. Once I redesign, I don’t mind offering the new design as a theme if people seem to like it.

    @damienbuckley: Thank you 🙂

I’d love to get some more feedback from you nice people. Also, no one has commented about what they’d like to see in a music magazine. I’d love to hear your suggestions.

    Looks fantastic.

Just one thing I noticed: If you go to add your email address to the newsletter form box that says ‘E-mail Address’ by default, that text doesn’t disappear once the text box is clicked on.

It would be better if the text disappeared when a user had the box active, and reappeared if they clicked somewhere else on the page.

    IMHO. Otherwise great.

Yeah, I tried doing that, but for some reason it doesn’t work with the current theme. I’ll have it resolved in a few days. Thanks for the feedback 🙂

“Once I redesign, I don’t mind offering the new design as a theme if people seem to like it.”

Gotta say the re-design’s really made a difference. Both compared to the elder one and to other WordPress sites. Would really love if the theme was released – even if I’d have to pay a bit to aquire the roots of it.

im keen for you to release the theme 🙂
