PHP parse error – unexpected $end… problem with upload-related plugins

    In bbpress I’m having trouble uploading any images (bbPress Post Toolbar) or attachments (GD bbPress Attachments) using two different plugins.

    My error log refers to an error in my theme (JQ) “PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/jq/comments.php on line 70, referer: http://mydomain.com/
    ”

    I’m wondering if this theme code is tripping up my bbpress installation and how if at all I can get past this issue. Any help much appreciated as my site is at a standstill until I can allow users (and myself) to insert images. Whenever I do try to insert an image this is what’s added to the post comment area: <img src=”” alt=”” />

    I’m using Chrome in WP 3.2.1, bbpress 2.0
