Looking for constructive feedback for a new blog

    Hi, I just started my blog about a month and a half ago and I am looking for some feedback about how I can improve it. As a poor college student, I’ve added AdSense ads to try and make a bit of money (about $5 so far…) so any suggestions about that would be helpful as well. Also looking for advice on structure and the format of posts as well as general advice. Thanks!

    I don’t know if you have already a good deal of visitors, but you might want to try changing the adsense position to see what works best for you.

    Thanks, but one other question: Where can you advertise your blog to draw more viewers?

    Having the adsense ads at the top of the page, under the search, would make more sense if you want to make money.

    I’m curious (complete newbie here) how you set up the headings in your sidebar for “Israel & the middle east”, “Portland, Oregon” etc. Sure, I can edit the sidebar and stick those headings in, but I don’t know how to do the php to get relevant articles to appear under them. Can you point me to a relevant resource?

    As for advertising, your best bet is probably finding sites similar to yours and getting some links, or write a damn good press release about your blog and get it published in Oregon or Isreali papers.
