• been using plugins w/no problems for literally years.

then all of a sudden this morning, all plugins were deactivated.

when i try to activate one, it posts “plugin activated”, but the plugin is still listed as inactive, and has, in fact NOT been activated.

I tried deleting all plugins in my plugin directory, then tried to re-upload them one at a time to reactivate but the same thing happens, says it is activated, but it isn’t, and is still listed as inactive.

    what the heck happened?

how do i force wordpress to actually deactivate all plugins so i can “start over” … seems i am stuck in some kind of wierd state.

    help anyone?

  • In your DB, go to the wp_options table and clear the ‘option_value’ field for the ‘active_plugins’ option. This will definatly deactivate all of your plugins, so you can try again from there.
