Just to follow up, having just tested the plugin on one of my sites… the cache folder created by WP Supercache and is inside ‘wp-content/cache’ has literally 1000’s of files which do not need to be backed up and will expire daily, but the plugin tries to back them up. It’s a huge waste of bandwidth and resources.
Maybe you could allow users select which directories they want to exclude from the back up?

Awesome thanks 🙂 I’m running it right now on a number of sites and the exclusion appears to be working from the menu. I’ll let you know tomorrow how the sync went with dropbox once it has actually had a chance to run on the sites.
All appears to be working well now, thanks Michael. There was a problem with one site where the backup wasn’t completing but that was resolved by uninstalling and deleting the plugin, deleting the sites backup folder from Dropbox and installing again.
As as a suggestion, for the next version (for people with multiple sites) it may be a good idea to make the default folder SiteNameBackup instead of WordPress Backup.
