  • Yep, that’s correct but there’s a setting that’ll allow you to automatically get rid of accounts that don’t proceed through to purchase!

Is that the “Enable incomplete signup accounts” option on the Options page? I have it unchecked now. Do you think that’s wise?

My clients are typically people who aren’t very computer literate, so I want to have as frictionless a process possible, with plenty of cushion in case they make a mistake. So, if they somehow complete the first step, but mess up during the second step, I want them to be able to start over. As it stands now, it looks like the user name and email would have been taken, therefore inhibiting them from trying to register again. That’s also why I was concerned on another thread about deleting members from the list.

Here’s another way to address the same issue. If someone creates a membership, but doesn’t subscribe, can they somehow return to the subscription step and pick up where they left off?

Not with that setting unchecked, no. After a certain amount of inactivity from the account it will be deleted.

They can return within that timeframe and continue with their signup though. Or just check that option again and there is no limit to when they can return and continue from where they left off.
