next_post_link – step alphabetically instead of chronologically

Is it possible to add prev/next links to a single post, that step alphabetically, instead of chronologically? Preferable for a specific post type or category of posts.

Currently using next_post_link() as normal, but it seems limited to stepping chronologically.
