fancybox – iframe not working
-
I want the following to open in an overlay:
<a class="fancybox-iframe" href="http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/films/yourlittlefilm-business-video-services/"><img class="size-medium wp-image-200" title="BUTTERCREAM" src="http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/BUTTERCREAM-REPLACE-INGRIDIENTS-300x167.png" alt="" width="255" height="142" /></a>
The link itself is a custom post type template that is designed for approx 640×440 overlay. The link itself: http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/films/yourlittlefilm-business-video-services/
I’ve checked for other sources of js – none are there. other plugins installed: collapse-o-matic, contact 7, smoothslider.

Hi Cathy, do you have a link to the page you are trying this on?
Oh yes – of course!
http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/films-summaryThanks RavanH!
Hi Cathy, for some reason, the FancyBox stylesheet on http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/wp-content/plugins/easy-fancybox/easy-fancybox.css.php?ver=1.3.4 is not loading (repsonding a 404 not found) and FancyBox will not work without it… The Slides plugin seems to suffer from the same effect: http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/wp-content/plugins/js/slides.jquery.js?ver=3.2.1
And another linked file that’s not there: http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/wp-content/plugins/css/default.css
And the linked jQuery library http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=3.2.1 has a strange version number. This is not a problem but it strikes me as odd… Are you sure you have uploaded all files? And your theme, is that working correctly?
Check by switching to the default theme (Twenty Eleven) and switching off all other plugins to see if the problem remains…
I have deactivated all plugins.
I deleted easy fancybox and then re-installed it. (the settings were saved however). The link I’m trying to use:
<a class="fancybox-iframe" href="http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/films/yourlittlefilm-business-video-services/"><img class="size-medium wp-image-200" title="BUTTERCREAM" src="http://desperatelyseekingwp.com/userylf/biz/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/BUTTERCREAM-REPLACE-INGRIDIENTS-300x167.png" alt="" width="255" height="142" /></a>
But the css file is still showing 404 and I have NO Idea why! I can see it via ftp. I’ve changed the permissions to 777 just in case. But nothing. I can’t activate the default theme. The iframe / html page I’m trying to open is a custom post type, which wont be there in the other themes. could the code inside the iframe, conflict?
Thanks for any help you can offer!!
AND – it is working great here – yourlittlefilm.com/family/custom-films which i’m just updating…
I GOT IT – wahoo!! THe plugins directory itself was 777 which apparently is bad. lol at 755, everything is working again! THanks Ravan for an awesome plugin!
Wow. Great that you figured it out… I would not have been able to spot that one for you 😉
Hi, I use fancybox for my site which I have an rss feed running that gives me links with pdf’s and html sites. It opens pdf’s in an iframe no problem but I am not sure how to make it work with html websites. Where exactly do I put that code to make every html link in the incoming rss feeds open in an iframe?
Thanks, I am a bit of a newbie.
Rampage, you will have to give links to ordinary web pages a class to activate FancyBox for them:
class="fancybox-iframe"
