The custome permalink has the following :
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
Just trying to understand:
Basically my wordpress ‘Pages’ show up like this in the URL
Where? In the list on the sidebar?
How does a permalink for a post look like?
(a link would be beneficial for further assistence)

hmmmmm, it suddenly just worked. I wonder how it happened.
No, it wasn’t the side-bar, i meannt in the browser’s address field. The control panel used to refer to it as :
http://www.example.com/pageName
but when i went there i saw a blank page. Even when i edited the page in the ‘manage’ section i saw a blank page in the page’s preview, and then i had to go to the following address in order to see it :
http://www.example.com/index.php/pageName
My wordpress installation is local, that’s why i couldn’t link to it. 🙂
Now it’s fixed for some reason. Thanks anyway 🙂
I’m having the same issue with this, actually. It won’t display as example.com/page/ but instead shows as example.com/index.php/page/
I have the .htaccess file CHMOD to 777 currently, I’m not sure what the problem is.
Is this one a Page:
http://acoustic-dream.com/goddess ?
I don’t see the “index.php” bit…
It’s not for that page, actually, it’s for an entirely different site. And I can’t for the life of me remember how I did it for that page anyway, which is where I ran into the problem 🙂
The page is: http://oceanstide.org and I tried to create an “About” page but it continues to say it is an invalid link. I use the same permalink structure as my other site.
