Good use of blue. Also, I like the monkey. (Yeah, that’s real mature.) Your site made me smile. Very very nice.
Not to start a flamewar (I don’t think one would start anyway), but what made you decide it was worth it to spend the time switching from Drupal to WordPress? Why did you switch from Drupal?
Your WordPress site is nice and clean. I always go to “About” pages hoping to learn something about the author – not much there about you!
I’d also be interested to hear why the switch?
Thanks for the feedback – I’ll try and make the about page a little more appealing!
Why the change? Well – I really like Drupal – it’s a solid CMS with a ton of features and you can do almost anything with it.
However – I ended up spending more time mucking with the site (grappling with modules, themes and sorting out taxonomy) than actually writing. And as a born procrastinator, that’s not a good thing!
With WordPress it’s much easier to skin and add blog type content and the admin side seems much easier for me to use.
Yes, I tried Drupal a couple of times, and I just couldn’t take to it. A lot of grappling, for sure.

I find myself using this as the reason I keep toying with switching from full-blown WP to the hosted WP.com.

I do love that particular quote. One reason why I prefer hosting my own is that I can backup my site easily. But I can see the attraction of a simpler set up which would let you focus on the writing – which is the point of a blog afterall.
