Customising the Twenty Eleven Header with links

Hi all,

Firstly, apologies for posting another topic on what seems to be a common question! I would like to change the header image in the twenty eleven theme so that different parts of it can be clickable to different external sites. I have spent the past week searching various forums but can’t seem to find anything that I can get working with Twenty Eleven. Some people have suggested creating an image map, while others have suggested using a text box widget. I am fairly new to editing php and css but am learning quickly. Could someone possibly let me know which parts of the header.php and style.css files I need to edit?

I have already created a child theme for Twenty Eleven – I have gone for the copy and paste option with the style.css and have already altered a few things like the main menu and search box.
