• Hi!

Is there a way to edit the layout of excerpt presenation? Basically I need thumbnail placed before byline tag and readmore link placed appende the text without adding next paragraph

    Like this

    header
    image byline
    text … read more link

Where everything above is clickable (including text).

Maybe I am missing something really obvious, but I see no templates for doing this anywhere.

Is that possible without actually tweaking source code?

PS. I am using Atahualpa and Consructor themes, but it does not seem to be themes related issue, if I am getting it right.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Best wishes
    NZ

  • These are CSS/theme issues.

Sorry, it’s not CSS or theme – there is no option in themes (as far as I see) to change order of putput of excerpt fields – to put byline after image for example.

Maybe I am mistaken, but where in theme I can do it?

I definitely cannot change order of items printout with CSS. Or add HTML tags to printout.

I’m sorry but it is down to CSS. Just because your theme doesn’t offer a nice handy option for achieving what you want doesn’t mean that it’s not CSS or the theme. I’ve created a number of themes that do pretty much what you want and I can assure you that it’s all down to CSS and theme editing.

Does any theme allow changing order of post items printout at all? Physical order I mean, not CSS styles?

Can I print byline before header for example?

    Thanks

Not that I know of, offhand.
