  • I have two different WordPress sites on different hosts exhibiting the same behavior since I upgraded to 3.2.1. Now if I try to update themes or plugins, I always get:

    You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/update.php on this server.

    I removed (temporarily renamed) all .htaccess files to make sure they weren’t causing problems. I checked the permissions of that file (644) and they look good.

    Any ideas what might be going on?

    I’m having the same issue. I’ve tried to have FatCow fix it, but I’m being told that it’s an issue with WordPress.

    Something that worked for me… I received the error when I tried to upload a new theme through the WordPress Upload function. Instead of using the built-in upload function, I unzipped the file and ftp’d it into the proper directory. The theme works.

    And fyi, PhoenixFire2912… it was on a FatCow account.

    @teamdecaf and PhoenixFire2912:

    I have a FatCow account and am having the EXACT same problem with a theme upload. I’m going to try the FTP upload, like you suggest. *fingers are crossed*
