  • right – the feed: is there so that a feed reader will pick up the link if the user has one installed locally.

Okay, I’m using Wizz RSS 2.0.7 which is a plugin for Firefox 1.5 and when I drag the link into Wizz I get this error:

“An invalid XML was returned from feed:http://wordpress.org/support/rss/topic/61116”

I haven’t had that problem with any other feeds when adding them to WIZZ

just tried this on a different computer – everything seems to work alright when the feed reader is separate from the browser.

My question about this is, should we leave the “feed:” section on the link, or remove it? If we leave it/ remove it, which is better and which will allow the most (and correct as in valid xhtml) usage?

Good question. Not sure that it impacts xhtml validation.

Frankly, it seems like a bigger pain than necessary — I’m probably going to strip the “feed:” from mine soon.
