I want to video blog – to add video clips to my site so people can download them. Formats: .mov, wmv, flash. Where are the instructions for doing this?

    Many thanks.

  • You can sign on to YouTube and then upload your videos there. Once you’ve done that, you’d get a code for each video that you can put into your blog post, to create an embedded player for that video.

hi mooiness. I am totally new to blogging but how do you upload video to your blog? Do you copy and paste? there is no paste feature. Thanks!

No upload feature? Look on your “Write” screen, right below the post editing area…

    Thanks HandySolo,
Gosh, sorry but how do I upload the video? I click the browse tab that is next to file and it brings up my “my documents” page. I right click within the file box so I can paste and there is no “paste” feature. I know I have to save it to some folder but where do i save it to? Man, this stuff is so frustrating!

    click the browse tab.
Browse to the file that you wish to upload and select it.

When you click browse, you’re telling WP where the file is that you want to move to the server and include in your post.
Then, again on the “Write” page, same area, you click the “Upload” button to have WP actually copy the file from your local PC up to your server.

    thanks HandySolo,
I think i got that part down…it is just like uploading an image. The problem I am having is getting the video from WP to my computer. I have no idea how to do that. Thanks for all your help!

Go to http://youtube.com. Create an account there, upload the video and wait for it to appear on your account at youtube (It might take more than four hours). If you don’t want to wait that long, upload your video at http://videoegg.com.

Then you should see code to embed the video into your blog.

Write a new post and paste that code into it.

    That’s how I did for http://sridhareena.com/2006/04/26/rounding-corners/

I tried to do that but there is no “paste” feature with WP when I try to paste it. I can copy the code by right clicking and choosing copy with no problem but I cannot paste it. Can anyone help?

    ctrl-v ?

    Handysolo,
I tried what you told me and it worked. I was able to get the html code in the file part. But when I click on the upload tab this is what I get: File is empty. Please upload something more substantial.
