  • I’ve updated my comments preview plugin, Filosofo Comments Preview. I’d appreciate any criticism/feedback you could provide. Thanks!

    New features:

    • Guesses what the preview page should look like according to your current theme.
    • You can set the optional captcha’s appearance using slider bars with an immediate preview.
    • You can use a TrueType font to customize the optional captcha.

    Existing features:

    • Extremely simple to install with WordPress versions 1.5.1.1 or newer: just activate it.
    • Completely configurable from the administrative control panel.
    • Creates the preview using WordPress comments filters so it looks as it would look if published, according to your blog’s settings (i.e. smileys, profanity edited, etc.)
    • Works with pop-up comments.
    • Optionally lists the previous comments at the bottom of the previewed comment page.
    • Optional JavaScript warnings when someone tries to submit without entering required fields.
    • The layout of the preview page can be modified using a template in the admin options page.

  • It’s fantastic, EXCEPT….for some reason I can’t get it to work with my popup comments window. Works great from the single-post page, but when I try to use it I get:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/sniper/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/filosofo-comments-preview.php(1304) : eval()’d code on line 30

Dunno what this means or why it happens. But you’ve done a good job just the same (was one hell of a lot of work, I expect), and I thank you.

“…but when I try to use it I get..”

…from the popup page, that is.

Never mind — got it. Thanks again.
