Moving Blog to Another Host

I moved my wordpress blog from one host to another. Now I am having trouble uploading photos.

I got this message: “21 bevels 26.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /home/users/web/b882/moo.mousetrapmarketingne/pjsartisangallery//wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Now the server information in this error pertains to the old host. I changed the wp-config.php file but is there something else I must change? If so can you provide me with a check list of everything I need to correct or change when I move my blog to another host?

I ask because I am sure that if this is not right then there has to be other things not working properly that I may not be aware of.

I followed these instructions to move my blog. So why am I getting the error listed above?

Did the domain name change?

There’s nothing in WP itself that should point to the full path, unless you set it in your media settings tab.

The only thing I see that might be off is the fact that I could not keep the database names the same from the old host to the new, due to the fact that my old host automatically named the database some very long automated name with lot’s of numbers etc in it. So I simplified the name of the database on the new server/host.

Could this be the problem with uploading images in a post?

Oh! I see it. Something put this path into the media settings tab by itself (really I did not do this…lol).

Let me fix this and try again.

No prob 🙂 You shouldn’t need to hard code the path in like that, but some servers are tetchy :/

All is well. Just had to make sure the file path was set to the default.
