• Hello,

I am attempting to setup my webserver on windows xp pro. I have apache 2.0.55, mysql 5.0.18,and php 5.1.2 installed and workign together.

I downloaded wordpress 2.0, and unzipped it into my server’s root directory.
I modified wp-config.php to set the proper databasename username and password.
I then tried accessing the wordpress index.php page.
It told me that wordpress was not yet installed.
I clicked on the install link, and then the first step link.
I filled in the weblog title and my email address and clicked on continue to step 2 link.
I can hear the database being updated, but I never get the next page which gives me the admin password and allows me to login.

I used mysql command-line tool to verify that the tables are created, and they were.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • This thread has some info possibly:

and this has been seen before and it involves deleting ot altering lines in the code but I just can’t find the threads right now.
Dropping this into a Google search and varying the end words might help (I’d search more but I’ve got somewhere to be)
