I really don’t know, I know the metadata track is on the html5 specs but is not currently supported by any modern browser or javascript. I know mediaelement.js support subtitle and caption tracks but not the other kinds.

It will probably be possible in the future but not now. HTML5 Video and Audio is still relatively new.

Sorry for the long reply, I had to think about that one.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    I think you misunderstood me.

The post-type ‘music’ has nothing to do with html5.

When I go in to add a post in wordpress, with your plugin turned on, I can select a video or audio file to add to the post.

When I go in to add a post-type ‘music’ there is no metabox to choose the video or audio file.

Post-type ‘music’ is just another type of post/page…

Ah gotya, I have added support for page and custom_post_type and just committed 0.1.13 and should be on WordPress within 15 minutes.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Thank you.

I did manage to get it working under ‘normal’ circumstances, but unfortunately had to go another route for now. I am using Adobe rtmp servers for storing and streaming all of my audio/video files. Because html5 does not support rtmp, I could not get it working properly.

I was however able to find a solution that works via flowplayer and a few of their js plugins. I’d request to have all of that added to your plugin, but that would be a huge job, and frankly there are not a lot of us out there using dedicated rtmp servers in the first place. Not sure it would be worth the time, or even possible with straight html5 players right now.

I will keep your plugin in mind for more basic projects though, as it does a great job for what it does.
