• Not sure what has changed however any new content we try and add to the site doesn’t retain line breaks. When I manually go in and place </br> it strips it out as well!!

    Help!.

  • Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

@esmi — Really? Sorry, but this has hardly gone unnoticed among WP users. There are multiple forum threads going back three years and more about TinyMCE (or whatever drives the editor) stripping ‘unwanted’ markup from posts. There seems to be no will to fix it however. I’m giving up and looking for a plug-in editor to replace the default.

@esmi Now it’s 9 months old. Care to give birth to any help at all?
Like many other, the first thing I do when I have a WP problem, is google it. This page was my result.

Personally, I find the WYSIWYG to be WordPress biggest flaw. It strips out portions of my standard HTML. I found that switching between Visual and HTML editor is asking for trouble, but not sure this is part of the cause.

And when you run a multilanguage site using qTranslate, you sometimes see one language overwriting the other ones on a post or page.
For my end users, the editor is definitely a source of frustration in the otherwise very userfriendly wordpress.
