Poll hack problems

Hi,
Just trying to install Gamerz poll hack. It looks excellent on the sites I have seen using it
BUT
I can’t get it to work!!
All installs ok then when I try to add the following to my index.php
vote_poll();
and

<?php get_polls(); ?>

I get this message every time.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: vote_poll() in /nfs/home/myaccount/public_html/index.php on line 5
Has anyone else had this problem?
Sorry if this post doesn’t read correctly…first time I have tried to include code….
