• Hello. I am not sure if this problem is WordPress related, a problem with the WP Theme I am using or a problem with my web host. Sometimes, when making changes to a .css file (or any file for that matter), I am not seeing the updates in my Firefox 3.6 or IE 9 browser in real time. I make sure to delete my cache/browsing history in my browsers as well as do a refresh. When I check the .css file via FTP, I see the updated code. I’ve even used Adobe Dreamweaver’s BrowserLab service and the the changes don’t show.

    a. Sometimes I have to do a re-boot of my PC to see the new changes? This is not practical & doesn’t make sense.

    b. It seems that sometimes I actually have to go into my WordPress admin and just make an arbitrary change (like making a post) to see the web page updates that I made.

    c. This is driving me crazy: I swear that sometimes, when pulling up my site in the browser, I see my site looking like the previous update or even two updates previously. Then I hit re-fresh, it reverts to the most updated changes.

    Your help is appreciated

  • Are you using any kind of caching plugin on your WordPress installation?

    Thanks.

Long Answer: I was using ‘W3 total cache’ until I had upgraded to w3 v. 0.9.2 and it ‘broke’ my site. After reading WordPress.org forum about a known issue ( http://tinyurl.com/3fyqcl8 ) and still having problems, I deleted that plugin as well as all traces from .htacess, Wp-config, advanced-cache.php, db.php, wp-total-cache-config.php, w3tc folder from wp-content folder.

So, assuming I don’t have to do anything in mySQL as far as any leftover remnants of w3…… No cache plugin is being used.
