Well, if by “news script” you mean an XML feed of some sort, then yes definately. WordPress comes packaged with RSS, RSS2, RDF, and Atom. All you would need to do is add a feed parser of some sort to your site.
Not sure if this is exactly what you mean, but hope it helps.

Not exactly, sorry let me explain futher.
I have a fansite at http://www.3skimo.com/paul/ On that page I would like to be able to use wordpress to post news, allow people to comment etc… That said I would like it to fit in with the template of my site. So the news would display in the box on the left where the welcome message is at the minute. I have no idea how to get wordpress to sit in that little box on the left. Any guidence would be most appreciated.
Thanks. 🙂

Small progress, I now have this: http://3skimo.com/paul/news/
However my original layout is done with tables. How can I get that to site within my tables layout?
Thanks

Anyone? I’ve been playing with it for a few hours now but I just can’t get it to work.
I think you are trying to find a way to integrate wp to your present html structure ? You should take a look at the wordpress integration tutorials, either integrate to the present skin or you have to hand code them from start.
Even I am looking for a perfect guide of the same!
Cant you just use a feedreader script on your html page and call your wp feed?
or am i misunderstanding ?

I don’t understand what that means Splosh, can you explain further?
Dreamchaser – thanks. I’ll take a look at those guides, I’m hoping I don’t have to hand code it though as I think I’d find that really difficult.

Ok I think what I’ll have to do is treat it as a seperate part of the site. Initally what I wanted to do was incorporate it into my index.php. That’s looking too difficult, so what I’ve done is edited the header and footer and wrapped my layout round it that way. I now need to tweak the style sheet and clean that up, as well as make sure all the images and includes point to direct paths (seeing as my wordpress isn’t in the root).
If anyone has anything else that may be helpful please let me know. I thought I should mention I’d managed to make some kind of progress though.
