Actually, it should not overwrite any sidebars. It just creates 5 new widget areas. Please double check this. If it really happens, please give more details here.

I’d like to second p3air’s comment. The plugin is perfect for my site, yet it deletes all my sidebar widgets on activating it.. The plugin works as it should apart from that. It’s extremely annoying as no other plugins really do what it does so well.

I would be extremely greatfull if you could help me thethefly?

Could you please provide us with access to your blog to examine what happens? (send to our box thethefly at thethefly dot com ).

Thank you I have sent you an email!

The problem was detacted and has been fixed now.

The problem with sidebars existed because some WP themes have sidebars declared WITHOUT any name or id.

A new varsion of the TheThe Sliding Panels – 1.0.2 – has been released. If you are so lucky to use a WP theme with a single sidebar – just update to this version and enjoy your sliding panels!

Your plugin demos looked great. So I have installed it. Getting the Widget Areas alright, but no “Plugin admin page” link is visible, for configuring the sliding panel. Any idea – what can cause this problem? Thanks, in anticipation of your reply.

Find it not under the Settings section but under the TheTheFly block that is usually right under the Appearance block.
