I have been manually editing wp-content/themes/default/index.php to change the layout in order to match with the rest of my site.

I uploaded all the images used in the rest of my site to the images folder within “themes”, and also uploaded a new css file to this folder.

When I browse to my blog, I can see things have changed, but its not picking up the css or any images, so I figure there must be a path issue?

What am I doing wrong (plus is this the best way to match a blogs style with a current website)

    Thanks!

  • Not seeing it how can we know what are you doing wrong…?
If you replaced the stylsheet for a theme – it has to be called “style.css”. WP doesn’t “understand” other names 🙂

How do you reference the pictures in the images folder from your stylesheet? If you make reference to them from the html (index file) they might not work with relative path.

A link to your site might be helpful.

If I read that right (always suspect!), you put the style.css file in the images folder. Can’t go there, has to go in the theme root folder, with index.php etc.

Sortd it now, images paths and path to css needed to be absolute to the themes folder
