Overview: I’m in the process of creating a sizable blogsite that hosts 70+ blogs. The Mu sitewide tags plugin is currently installed and I’m using the primary blog as the tag blog for the site.

    Question:
I’m not sure if this is possible with the mu sitewide tags plugin, but essentially what I would like to do is have multiple tag blogs that only post articles from selected categories.

Using my site as an example, if a viewer clicks on “computer hardware” in the navbar I would like to have a computer hardware tag blog that displays the posts of all the blog categories in the menu.

Does anyone know of a way to achieve something like this?

If the aggregated posts are in categories then you can treat it like regular cats and sort it that way, but you can’t have multiple tags blogs.

Thanks for responding and all the help in the past. : )

My knowledge of php is fairly limited, but I can get by. Is there an easy way of achieving this?

The aggregated posts are in categories, but I need to create a new blog that will post the articles for around 20 different categories from other blogs on the network.

Given that you can do multiple tag/category queries in WordPress, I would think that you could just do that on your tag (i.e. aggregate) blog and have ONE blog and cheat the rest.

Thank you so much! This is what worked for me:

    http://geekpowwow.com/?categories/memory,mice

I also tried adding “?categories/memory,mice” to the end of a path on a new blog for the heck of it, but it didn’t work which wasn’t surprising.

The only thing that would make this perfect is if I could somehow place a title at the top of the content section. Any ideas?

I think my best bet is going to be to write a script, but this will def work in the mean time. Thanks again.

You’d do that in your theme files.

It’s not a regular page, how would I go about editing the theme to add a specific title for a query search?

For instance, here’s a link that I use for “Pc’s & Laptops” from my site’s menu:

    http://geekpowwow.com/?categories/desktops,laptop-accessories,laptops-notebooks,netbooks,tablets

I was under the assumption that I would just need to create a new page and write a script that gets posts from the categories by id.

If there is an easier way to achieve this please let me know.
