Not sure if this is what you meant, but in the admin go to Settings > General and change the “Site Title”
@thegreatdanton: I’m pretty sure you can’t do this. Why would you need to?
Thanks for your reply pelaej but that’s not what I mean. Basically, I’ve installed a theme and it has added a section on the left hand side in the backend. This section is located under ‘Settings’ and the title of the section is the Theme Name. Under this section you have all the settings related to that theme.
Why would I need to? Well basically, if I give my client administrator rights I don’t want them to see that I’ve used a theme. I hope this makes sense. If it can’t be done then fair enough.
All WordPress sites – without exception – use a theme. Why not just re-name the theme?
Yes I have renamed the theme before uploading via ftp. And if you go into the source code you won’t see any reference to the theme. However, in the admin section, the theme name is still visible.
Please see this link for an example:

Any advice on how I can remove reference to Simplicity?
You can’t hide the theme name or remove that item from the Admin menu. as I’ve said, all WordPress sites uses a theme. You can’t run a site without one, so I’m having difficulty understanding the problem here.
I understand what you are saying and I appreciate that. It’s just I don’t want my client knowing how I constructed the site (i.e. – that I purchased a theme). He wouldn’t be that technically aware anyway. Thanks for your help
Personally, I’m not sure that the client would care as long as s/he got the site they wanted at the price they could afford. They also wouldn’t be aware if, or how, you might have customised the theme. But, as I said previously, rename the theme in style,.css to reflect the client’s site name. That way, the client just sees a theme for their site.
