• Q: My blog (or portal) will contain # articles of (at least some) long term interest. # Categories and subcatecories and # search is a must.
    # Keywords if possible.
Articles is often long, 1 full page or more which make # short presentations and # “read more-links” nesessary in most cases. Second pages will accordingly be some kind of overviews too. Preferrably # comments to the articles. # Editing skins and templates should be faily easy.

Question… can this best be made in a blogware or a cms?

I’m a newbe, but some pain to start with may be acceptable.

(Host have updated PHP and mySQL (also Perl /CGI /SSI)

  • Yes, it’s something that WP can handle. For a “read more” just add the more tag where you want it. < ! – – more – – > (without the spaces)

For paging an article, add new page tags where you want the page breaks < ! – – new page – – > (again, without the spaces, except between “new page”. )

There’s even buttons in the editor (also known as “quick tags”) to help with that.
