Scheduled Posts Don't Work

Hello,

Recently after upgrading my blog to version 3.1.1 i have been having some trouble with scheduled posts, often i will get the message ‘Schedule Missed’ which although dosen’t give much insight into the problem obviously points to something that isn’t quite right.

Around the same time that i upgraded to 3.1.1 my host upgraded their hosting control panel, i have also read that wp-cron.php needs certain access to the server’s CRON TAB so that it can enter the scheduled post information and process it when required, i don’t know where, what or how wordpress uses this information so would really appreciate some help/guidance.

I hope the information provided is not to vague but will be happy to provide more indepth information if required.
