Nested year, month and date archive navigation 3.1 problem

    Am currently upgrading an old site from 2.8 to 3.1. I am using this piece of code to grab year/month archive navigation but it is breaking the template. Am wondering if anyone can point out which part has become deprecated (and whether it can be fixed)?
