Marquee Plugin of sorts

On this site http://wesdorris.com you will see on the homepage under the slider some marquee text. I did this with a simple Marquess html tag, however I need a gui to edit the text so my friend does not delete any files or lines that are importnat. I have tried some marquee plugins, but have not found one where I can just put the marquee where I want, but only ones where a widget is included. Any help?!
