  • Get this error after posting… then about 3 hours later the blog comes back online showing new post…

    WordPress database error: [Can’t create/write to file ‘/tmp/#sql_365_0.MYD’ (Errcode: 5)]
    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2005-12-31 03:09:59’ AND (post_status = “publish”) AND post_status != “attachment” GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 0, 10

    Just some extra info for wordpress techo’s… I installed the full version of tinyMCE WYSIWYG editor as a plugin on another wordpress 1.5 blog and that blog keeps going offline… displays a 404. Could the two problems be related (both use tinyMCE editors).

  • The error often means the server has run out of space for temp file creation (or something else has gone awry with the tmp directory). Contact your host’s support and let ’em know they seem to have a little problem on their db server.

    Hope it is as simple as that. Hosting company is on Xmas holidays so I will have to wait a week.

    Thanks for info

    The temp thingy makes sence to me, however it would be of interest if you could explain something to me.

    I have 5 other blogs (using latest version of 1.5) and when I post to them I do not get any database error… only if I use the WordPress 2.0 blog.

    That brings me to the conclusion that there is something in 2.0 that isnt in 1.5 causing the error.

    Am I right or wrong.

    Just curious.

    Are the v1.5 blogs on the same server as the v2.0 blog?

    Yes they are. Not too sure about the correct way to say this but… I believe they would also be in the same directory, because the plesk control panel will not allow me to have two databases with the same name… does that make any sense!!!

    All Errcodes are server-side SQL errors. You will have to contact your hosting provider and ask them to fix it.
