Support » Plugin: Contact Form DB » [Plugin: Contact Form 7 to Database Extension] Still not saving submissions

  • Hello Mike,

I re-posted this because the other forum post was marked [resolved].

    Thanks for a great plugin.

I am having the same problem as @bobbybrown235 above. The plugin was working then it stopped once I did the update. I have checked the box “enabled data export after the message” and the form data is still not being saved to the database.

I also just updated to WP 3.1 and this error persists. Can you help? Is there some setting that I am missing? I am still getting the emails, but need to have this data saved to the db. Do I need to recreate the form?

Which plugin did you update and it stopped working? FSCF or CF to DB?

    Hello Mike,

I can’t be exactly sure as FSCF released an update around the same time as the CF to DB update.

I guess the main issue is that I am still getting emails but the data is not being saved to the db.

Any ideas about how to fix this?

    Thanks for your help!

    Jillianne

If you use Contact Form 7 to DB Extension Plugin and FSCF, be sure to visit the form edit page and enable this setting: “Enable data export after the message”. Do this for each form # you want saved to the DB.

    Hi Mike,

As indicated in my original post, I have that option enabled already. It still does not save to the database.

    Cheers,
    Jillianne

I just tested on my site and do not have this problem.
Sorry you are having trouble. I do not know the cause.
Do you have more than one form you are using?
Make sure you select the form you want to look at on the database view page.

    I have another idea:

Some WordPress installs run out of available PHP memory because the memory limit is set too low. This can cause random errors or white screens that show no error at all.

Install this WordPress plugin to see the PHP Memory Limit and Memory Usage in the WordPress admin dashboard:
    WP-Memory-Usage
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-memory-usage/

If the memory limit is 32M or less, or a very high percentage of usage, try increasing it:
    See this FAQ:
    http://www.fastsecurecontactform.com/php-memory-limit

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for helping me figure this out.

This is the only form we are using on the website.

I installed wp-memory-usage and here is the information I get:
    PHP Version : 5.3.3 / 32Bit OS
    Memory limit : 128 MByte
    Memory usage : 20.73 MByte (16%)

So I don’t think it is a memory problem.

FSCF also just released an update.

    <update>
I just tried something else, though, and the records are now appearing. Here’s what I did. In the previous version (FSCF Version 2.9.8.3 CFDB Extension Version 1.6.5) the title of the form remained “form 1” with this new version (FSCF Version Version 2.9.8.4 CFDB Extension Version 1.6.5) IF a label is given to “form 1” it queries the database for the form label and displays it under “form label title”, but it does NOT show these records under “form 1”.

Prior to my FSCF update just now the “form label title” did not appear in the drop down selection of records to display.

So, I think my issue is resolved but I am not sure why.

    Thanks!

    Jillianne

In FSCF, the “Form X label:” on the form edit page is optional(X is the form number). If you do not have a “Form X label” set, then the database will use “Form X” as the form selection option. If you are using the DB feature for submissions and later edit the form and add a “Form X label:”, then all new form submissions must be selected using the new form x label. ‘Form X’ selection option will still contain the old submissions, this is normal.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for clarifying.

I wonder if it would make sense to setup a query that consolidates these? So if someone edits the Form X label and adds one then it knows to display those records together?

    Thanks again!

    Jillianne

Maybe Michael Simpson can answer that one, the database is his plugin.

Im using Contact Form 7 and Contact Form to DB Extension ..

The Db I can not get to is called Contact Form 1 .. though there might be 8000 additions in there ..

I am running a site called .. http://bit.ly/ig4c75 .. see the form on the left ..

After I upgraded to 3.1 I could not get in the db .. Though I have two others I can get in with no problem ..

    (@mbrownwebnetinteractivecom)

What about a Memory limit for Contact Form 7 .. I am thinking the dB is still there … I just can’t get to it ..

Any advice would be helpful .. Thanks ..
