• When I got to the WordPress.com web site all the links along the top seem to assume I am already logged in, yet they refer to a non-existent domain.

For example, the Sign Out link links to the following url:

    http://.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=logout

Note the . at the beginning of the url.

The rest of the links along the top appear to be for ‘logged in’ features, such as New Post, Blogroll etc. None work as all have the mysterious . in the url.

I have not created a wordpress.com account (to the best of my knowledge) and cannot get to a signup screen.

Hard coding the logout url (wp-login.php?action=logout) does no good.

Oh, and I realise this site isn’t ‘meant’ for wordpress.com support, but this seems like it needed raising to someone, and I couldn’t find (or access, due to the bug) any way of contacting support for the said site.

I have the same problem. Very strange. Does anybody know what could be the problem? And how to solve it?

me, too. yesterday it worked fine. i opened up the registration page, but then
decided to do it today. but today i have the same problem as explained in the first post. tried several browser and cleaned the chache.

yeah, forgot to say I tried it in IE and firefox. I do have a wordpress blog (not a wordpress.com blog) and I tried logging out of that but that didn’t help.

Somehow I did eventually manage to create a wordpress.com blog, and after that the aformentioned links work correctly, linking to <domain>.wordpress.com

Kafkaesquí has set up a yahoo group for problems with .com blogs; you can find it at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wordpressdotcom/. It’s entirely volunteer, not official, but we will do our best to assist.

Hey all, I’m trying to login to my wordpress.com blog and I keep getting an “Incorrect Password” warning. I keep using the password e-mailer function to get a new password, I try to login with the new password and still it doesn’t let me through. Sorry for posting this here, but the only way to reach wordpress.com support is through the feedback link on the dashboard, and I just cannot login to even see the dashboard. Can someone please help? I’m sure I type everything in exactly as I should, and enter the correct username and password I’ve been given. Thanks!

solvap – see the post right above yours.

If you want to make an attempt to contact the WordPress.com support team without the dashboard’s Feedback form, you could try the contact form listed on the website for Automattic, the “company” which provides the WordPress.com service.

TechGnome, I already have tried the wordpressdotcom yahoo group. I still haven’t had any reply regarding this issue, thanks though. macmanx, thank you, I might just try that if I see the situation persists.
