• I’ve had a nightmare over the last few days trying to use Wordbook, WPBook, Simple Facebook Connect and now the Notes function in Facebook to link my blog to a Facebook page. What’s worse I can’t get any support anywhere – I’ve tried FB help, FB forums, the developer of SFC and asking on here about WPBook and nobody has even replied…

What I want to do is display the content in full on a Facebook page (not my personal one).

I managed to get the FB app to pull content through and format it, but it wouldn’t display to the wall. I then discovered the Notes functionality in FB, but for some reason it won’t find my sites RSS feed, despite the fact I have it working through Firefox and checked it against the validator. It did say it would prefer I remove the iframes, but nearly all the content on the site uses iframes, so that’s a bit of a non-starter. What’s more it won’t tell me what the issue is, it just doesn’t work.

It looks like FB has changed since any of the guides I’ve found where written too.

Can anyone help? At the moment I’ve bodged it with Hoot Suite, but it’s not really any good. It’s getting to the stage where I’m feeling like giving up on this, despite the fact it seems like something that should be fairly easy to do.

  • I had the same trouble, try with FacePress II WordPress Plugin.

Cheers, but that only publishes post information, which I’m doing already with Hoot Suite, I want to pull the full post through.

Not even sure that’s possible with the FB API?

I haven’t seen any plugins which do that…. I’ve seen the amount of characters imported raised recently……

The plugins that I have tried say they do (they use the API) and the Notes feature on FB seems to suggest it would too, but I can’t get any of them to work, so can’t say for definite one way or t’other.

I managed to get my app using the API to re-format the content, but it wouldn’t post to the wall. It did lead me to suspect the problem was on the Facebook side, but I could find zero support/guidance there…

Cheers for that – the app isn’t the right one, it’s better than Hoot Suite, but still not quite right. However, it has highlighted where the problem is: in the fan page. When working with the page it won’t recognise our RSS feed, however out of curiosity I tried it with my personal page and it worked fine (and with my app page too). So, this means my fan page isn’t working properly. Any suggestions?

I posted my blog in my FB profile and worked fine, then, tried to post in my FB fan page and works, using FB notes and my RSS, why, I dont know, I was trying to do this as a month, you could try to post first in your profile, then in your fan page, maybe it works.
