• Hi,
I just wanted to post that I too have back up issues when an email is sent. However the backups are <200kb.

I did notice though that the email version of the back up; when you open the .gz file the file listed in WinRar has no .sql. Rather it has zip ([blank]zip). Maybe its just the server I’m working on.

    *UPDATE*
The plugin works on some servers and not others when emailing the backup.

I still find it weird that it drops the .sql in the gz file when its sent through email.

    – I am now using WP3.1 on all my sites
    – I just backed up a site to move it, and found that the gz file is empty; this repeated, so I ended up exporting from PhpMyAdmin instead. I have used it successfully before, so not sure why this is happening (I can’t recall if it is 3.1-specific; also where I am backing up just for security, I think I have assumed the backups were OK, which is dangerous.
    – I have set up daily backups by email, that aren’t happening
    – Is this a 3.1 problem?

I think it only sends the back up if someone is visiting roughly around that time.

People should definitely test this with their server before they rely on it.

However; the backups are similar to the ones you get out of PHPMYADMIN.
