• I am a photographer and wish to use wordpress for my main website. I wish to change the menus that say home and about to several different things like portfolio, contact, price list etc and have it go to different pages, is this possible?

  • Yeah. Depends how your theme is set up.

But normally you can set up a menu in appearance->menu to have whatever you want

By default, most menus show your pages. Home is just the link back to whatever you have set as your home page. Either your blog posts, or a static front page if you set that up in settings->reading

The about is just a default page created when WP is installed. You can edit it or delete it, and make your own pages

Are there instructions on how to do it, like wordpress custom menu for dummies?

I have done a few different sites now and typically the theme will have default names on those tabs but as you create your pages it will update those names on the tabs. Also, as you create categories for blogs and such, you can add those to the menu and it will also altar those tabs. Hope that helps! 🙂
