• I’ve done several Google searches and searched the forum and WP plugins, but can’t seem to find the answer to what I’m looking for.

I’m trying to add a text box to a post. I’ve got a LONG list of proxies that I want to be in a medium sized window that myself or whoever can scroll though and copy and paste easily.

I want my text boxes and the content inside to look like this:
    http://proxy-hunter.blogspot.com/2011/01/21-01-11-l1l2l3-http-proxies-1190.html

But instead mine looks like this:
    http://onhousearrest.net/proxies-01-20-2011/

Notice the <BR /> after every singe line?!??!!! I can’t for the life of me figure out how to DISABLE that from appearing! I’m using simple HTML <textarea>. I did not add ANY of the line breaks – when I switch over from “HTML” to “Visual” Worpdress Automatically adds every single individual <BR /> and I can’t figure out how to get them to GO AWAY and STAY GONE!

    Please help! Lol!

    Thanks in Advance,
    Scott G

  • here an alternative

    <pre class="alt2" style="height: 80px; overflow: auto; text-align: left; width: 500px; border-width: 1px; border-style: inset; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;" dir="ltr">text here</pre>

Yes. I see the <br /> but visually the box is about the same as the other one except for some borders and line-height. Are the breaks actually causing functional problems?

You could add the IP’s in a custom meta field and show them under the post? The problem is that the applied content filter will automaticaly add
    s for newlines.
