Around the web rss footer

I keep seeing some really cool items on various sites – http://huffingtonpost.com, http://younghollywood.com, etc – that have an “Around The Web” area in the footer of the page that seems to utilize RSS feeds from various sites. I’d love to add something like that to my sites, but I can’t seem to find anything like it and I can’t tell if these sites use WP, as I’m new and still feeling my way through WP. Are these sites using some sort of footer plug-in and if so, does anyone know what plug in it is, because two weeks of searching for something like this has come up empty, and I’d really like to find out what it is.
