Trackback excerpts too long

    Thanks for fixing the trackback/pingback problem. However, I have noticed that sometimes the excerpted text is too long, for example in this it’s quoted the entire post! I have Fancy Excerpt 2.0 enabled. I don’t know if it makes any difference, but this example is of an internal pingback. (Of course, I cam edit the comment manually to be shorter, but I left it there so you can see the problem.)

    PS If it’s possible, it would be nice if there were some options so that I could change some of the tile behaviour back to the v2.6 way – ie, excerpts of comments instead of just saying that a post has been commented on, and listing the number of posts in a category or month. If not, I’ll live with it – the other new features more than make up for it.

    from the fancy excerpt doc: the plugin is not used for pingback/trackback excerpts.

    with respect to the recent comments, I dumped the excerpt feature because it was too cpu intensive and it was causing too many support requests (e.g. “it’s too long/too short, someone can mess up my layout, blah blah…”) for me to bear with it in the long term.
