• I have tried repeatedly to upgrade wordpress from version 3.01 ( i think that’s what I hve) to the new version. each time I do (and i’ve tried auto and manual upgrade) I get a database error. in the wp-admin area I get a “tables don’t exist” error. if i try and repair, like it suggests, everything goes south. i don’t know what the heck is wrong here but i’m getting a little frustrated! help

  • I get a database error.

What exactly is the database error? Deactivate all plugins by renaming plugins folder in wp-content via FTP or cPanel. Activate default twentyten theme by renaming your active theme folder. Then re-upload WP files and upgrade.
