Store Locator

I need a simple plugin where a user can input a zip code and data about locations within 50 miles will show up either on a map or some other presentation. I realize there is google maps store locator which does exactly that, but it appears this is either a dead project or the developer isn’t adding new features/premium support ( http://www.viadat.com/2010/06/full-hiatus-support-upgrades/ ) anytime soon.

SimpleMap didn’t work for my permalink structure either for some reason

Does anyone know of any other “store locator” type scripts, either free or premium that they are using?
