    Hi,

I tried to connect Facebook and Twitter but am getting this error.

I’ve tried deleting the plugin and re-installing it, but still no change.

Do you know how to fix?

    Hi there,

    Is this for shershegoes.com?

There seems to be an issue with that connection, in that not everything seems to be working properly.

    Debug is showing several failures:

    https://jetpack.com/support/debug/?url=www.shershegoes.com

Because of this, I would recommend reaching out to your web host to first make sure that Jetpack is not getting blocked or limited. For the best results, you could also have them whitelist the following:

All connections to and from *.wordpress.com
    Our service IP range: 192.0.64.0/18
It looks like you’re currently hosted at HostDime, here is their support center to help get you started:

    https://www.hostdime.com/support/contact-us/

Also, I would look and see if there are any plugin conflicts that is causing this error – Disable all of your plugins and see if you still receive the same

    Thanks,

    Hello

I am also having the same issue listed here. I have spoken to my host (WP Engine) and they have advised the following:

I’ve checked here in your nginx logs, and there isn’t any records of 500 errors.

I found this post request here to xmlrpc.php, where the response code is the section after ‘HTTP/1.1’ and it’s a 200 which means it’s successful.

In addition to that, I’ve used the curl for xmlrpc.php as suggested in that article and I’m seeing this here

Which seems to be the response they expect

I’m not seeing any requests here that have publicize-connections or publicize in it
If it were being blocked in any way, the request would still show in the access logs here

Please can someone help with this?

    Thanks
    Jon

We’re being blocked from accessing https://insights.footballadvisor.net/xmlrpc.php which Jetpack requires to function.

Unfortunately, blocking XML-RPC is not a great solution for fighting security risks. It’s akin to selling your car because you don’t want it to be stolen.

Your site’s XML-RPC file is kind of like a communication gateway to your site. Jetpack, the WordPress Mobile Apps, and other plugins and services will use this file to communicate to your site. If this is blocked, you will have other issues pop-up down the road for the same reasons.

If you are using any security plugins, please try connecting with those temporarily deactivated. If you don’t have any, or if that didn’t work, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to unblock your site’s XML-RPC. The most popular hosting providers out there have managed to find other ways to protect their servers without having to hinder your site and your ability to use services with your WordPress.

I am having exact same error at http://www.bluenews.com.ng
    thanks

In order to work properly, Jetpack needs to be able to connect to your site via XML-RPC. Right now if you have a look at your site’s XML-RPC here:
    http://bluenews.com.ng/xmlrpc.php

You will notice that there is a warning that this file has been blocked by Mod_Security.

I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to help you disable this block so that your XML-RPC will look like this:

    https://jetpack.com/xmlrpc.php
