500 server error updating post

I saw this topic because I am only getting 500 service error on updating posts.

so i disabled yoast (current version 5.8) and i can update the post.
disabling all other plugins and leaving seo yoast still has the problem.. i have a staging site also on www, and also staging on our local server..
same problem, fix is to deactivate the plugin

i see from the github some of the problems. is there a setting to fix this issue ? if not will have to move away from my most popular seo plugin in all of my development.

Same problem. I can’t create posts – 500 error while Yoast SEO activated.

We have to move 400 of our development sites to another, here is a list for you.
The only work around is disable seo yoast to do page post updates but then you cannot fill in seo yoast..

Can you please confirm whether the issue persists while using the WordPress v4.9.1 and Yoast SEO v5.9.3?

After the last update (v5.9.3) the problem has been solved. Everything is working perfectly. Thanks!

I dont think so we have 50 sites all of them except one which we did not update your plugin have this problem and from the forums and searches I am not the only one with this issue, why did you say it was the latest release of your plugin and wordpress sounds like your old bug issue to me.

We recently released Yoast SEO v6.0. Please update your plugin to that version and see if it fixes your issue.

Hi!

I was in trouble with error 500 updating post too … update was well doned but I was redirected to an error 500
I went to update the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin and seem that this error doesn’t happen again …. I will keep an eye over that in futur.
not sure if was the reason of this error 500 but could be an idea to fix (I hope) …

@magicfilou What happens when you try updating the Yoast SEO plugin manually? Or what happens when you try updating the Yoast SEO plugin again?

You can download an older Yoast SEO version from here and try updating the plugin again to check whether the issue persists.
