 * I didn’t work on a site for a couple of months. Now I want to update some plug-
   ins.
    Every time I update Woocommerce I get a 500 server error… Help!

   makes it clear how important it is to test updates on a staging site before doing
   the updates on the live site.
 * There is likely a Fatal Error happening when WooCommerce is updated. Most often,
   this occurs because a plugin or customization on your site is referencing a deprecated
   function. You can check your server’s PHP Error logs to find the exact error 
   message and script location.
 * Generally speaking, you also want to update your WooCommerce extensions _before_
   updating WooCommerce itself.
