500 server error

    I just set up multisite. I changed my URL (deleted the “www”), and updated the wp-config.php and the .htaccess files according to the instructions, but got this message when I went to login again (asked to login again after changes were made):

    500 Server Error
    A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.

    I installed WP through BlueHost and everything was fine, but had to install the multisite thru the WP.org site.
